Field Notes

Habitat:

We live in pine forest in the foothills of Denver.

Notes:

These 4 bucks look like they've just lost their antlers, and the first one seems to have some wear and tear! They were down below our deck for a couple hours, just enjoying the beautiful day! I have to say the 3 laying with their legs splayed make me think of giant kangaroos!! (those ears help!!) ;-)

It is interesting to see the Buck without their antlers. Great series.
Thanks all...yes, I think he's old with that many scars...look at his split ear too!
Cool spotting, Interesting scarring on the one.
Nice, and agree with you on seems to be giant kangaroos pose,
Ya...I put one more picture that didn't load...of him...he was a beauty...the other 3 looked younger...the 5th pic shows some of the scarring...I think he's old and master of his domain...that's why he's alone... ;-)
Oh wow! This male looks like he's missing something... He looks a little rough around the edges from the rut. I bet it's nice to not carry that weight around for a while!
