Description:
Spotted coming back from William's Cave, Brgy Petal, Dasol, Pangasinan. Three plants growing close to each other at the edge of a ricefield.
Habitat:
Introduced in the early 19th century by the Spanish. Smooth Cayene (hawaiian) is the most favored cultivars for canning and fresh fruit consumption. It matures in 18 months and yields 25,000 fruits per hectare. It is grown in most provinces of the Philippines.
