Description:
Is a robust plant, with two (sometimes three) more or less ovoid bulbs, its trunk thick stalk striated longitudinally. Its height may vary from 15 to 80 cm, but most of the time not exceeding 50 cm.
Basal leaves in rosette (5 to 10 leaves), light green, broad, fleshy, bright, with parallel veins. Cauline leaves that hug the trunk.
Inflorescence is a spike, first pyramid rather then rather cylindrical. Numerous linear bracts crenate and may reach 3 cm. Ram flowers facing down
Habitat:
Perennial plant that is distributed throughout the Mediterranean which was originally developed on limestone soil: scrublands, grassy places, weeds, forest clearings, slopes, roadsides
