Field Notes

Description:

This squat and robust monitor lizard didnt seem to like me too much, and told me so by distending its stomach and neck and hissing. This was Plan B after Plan A had failed - which involved a spirited but short attempt at fleeing (these lizards arent built for huge speed). As I paid little heed to his signals he then opted for Plan C and turned his back on me and proceeded to hit me with his short, solid tail - which quite hurt actually as I wasnt wearing any shoes.
