Field Notes

Description:

These birds were very common on our trip through Jordan; however, they were skittish and so I was lucky when this one didn't pay attention to me till the very last minute!

Habitat:

Desert, arid land, though they dislike flat sand.

Notes:

The sound of their singing was beautiful.

Hi duttagupta35504 In order to assure the accurate data and identification of spottings n PN, I took the liberty to curate his spotting and change it from Desert lark to Wheatear. I also added some references. Hope you don't mind Cheers
I also agree with Wheatear. Please use "Edit this spotting" to correct the headings.
Thanks for the suggestion! I wasn't very familiar with birds at all at the time of the spotting, this is immensely useful—and a lifer!
I'm not 100 % sure about the species itself... if I'm correct, it could be a wintering female of O. h. melanoleuca subspecies - definitely wintering version, time of the year fits. Thanks Mark, will do as you suggest.
Must be the wintering version then? Black-eared Wheatear (Oenanthe hispanica). You could suggest this ID Zlatan. https://www.hbw.com/ibc/photo/black-eared-wheatear-oenanthe-hispanica/wintering-bird-wire
This isn't Lark at all - to me it looks like Wheatear; I would say Black-eared Wheatear.
