Field Notes

Description:

What a smart squirrel! So, the green bird feeder has a specific bar on it, so that if something too heavy landed on it (specifically squirrels), it would close the hatch to the food. This squirrel some how got the two bird feeders close enough so he could keep his weight on the other while he got food out of the green one. I guess squirrels will try anything to have a good lunch ;)

Yes! I love watching them figure it out. Though I have to admit, once they figure it out, I let my dog out to "go potty". As soon as my little retriever catches sight of the squirrel, don't blink, because if you do the squirrel will be gone before you know it! My dog is a sweetheart and would never be able to catch a squirrel. If she did she would just lick it to death!
They are very crafty when it comes to figuring out bird feeders. Fun to watch too.
