Red and black spiny caterpillar

The nettles in my garden

Notes:

Thanks to Saturniidae27 for helping me ID! I looked up photos after the suggestion. There are some color variations, but I noticed some that looked very similar to what I found. I read about them and learned their primary food source are nettles! It also discussed how they fold over leaves with their silk, something it had done.

Thanks, Saturniidae27! I looked at several photos and, while I see some varying coloration, I found a few that resemble what I found. I also read that they mostly feed on nettle and fold the leaves over. Based on all that, I'm very confident that you are correct! Thank you so much!
