Field Notes

Description:

This Urban Coyote was spotted in Denver this morning on it's way back to it's "den".

Habitat:

City of Denver near local parks and lakes.

Notes:

This morning while I was driving to work through a neighborhood a coyote and I both turned onto the same street at the same time. The coyote wasn't too happy about our chance meeting. I followed him several blocks until he climbed up onto the porch of a house. A few moments later a man walked out onto his porch. I yelled to him to tell him there was a coyote on his porch, thinking he would be scared. He replied "Ya, I know. I can't get rid of him." He lives here in my bushes!" I thought it was very funny that the coyote had made is den right there, but it was a very well secluded and it's probably slim pick'ins in the city!

Ha Adam! I was like "oh crap, what did I get wrong, wait..." I like that! Thanks for the laugh!
you may have the scientific name wrong....i think it's roadrunnerus digestus :)
I know what you mean...I ran out of room on my computer! I had to move files to a back-up hard drive, but I purged!!! It's so easy to have so many photos in this digital world! ;-)
Thanks! I like that one too! I need to focus more on quality shots from now on and not just "I want a picture of ..." I need to stop working on composition more!
Neat story! I love the one where he's licking his chops!! Great shots, Emily!!
I did, I couldn't believe it! He was close to your neighborhood! 32nd and Yates.
Thanks Karen, I was thinking the same thing!
Beautiful series Emily! I would be parked up by that house if I was you on the off-chance of more sightings! :)
