Field Notes

Description:

Shades of bright green above, paler and more yellow underneath, red patch on forehead and behind eye area, blue crown of head, yellow patch on each side in front of shoulder, orange/red markings on tail, dark parrot style beak with red tip. Also known as green keet.

Habitat:

Found in eastern regions of Australia and is nomadic following flowering trees.

Thanks. Muskies more often heard not seen, I was so happy to finally see this group close enough to get good shots, usually they're way up high in Eucalypt trees or silhouetted against the sky as they fly past. Only fairly small bird. Not as common as years previous.
I've not seen this species before. Great spotting and info :-)
