Field Notes

Description:

This solitary soft orange mushroom with gills extending down the stem. The white stem tapers toward the base.

Habitat:

In a creek bed in very sheltered light under native habitat foliage.
The second spotting found 19 May 2012 in Croydon Vic. under pine trees.

Notes:

These fungi are grown and collected for eating, as the name suggests.
