Field Notes

Description:

Medium sized jumping antelope of earthy colours above and white below, with long ears and medium sized horns.

Habitat:

Seen in Kunene region of Namibia (northwest), in arid acacia tree-and-shrub landscape - this region of Namibia looks like the land of springboks; we observed herds everywhere... Close to habitations and roads, far away from them; in open woodlands, as well in acacia tree-and-shrub dry areas. The region is still very dry (but still magnificent and rich in wildlife) at the moment, following a three-year dry-spell.
