Description:
Cow Moose looking for anything to eat. This time of year the moose are struggling to maintain weight and get through the deep snow. Southcentral Alaska has had lots of deep snow this year.
Habitat:
All of Alaska, most of Canada and the Northern Rocky Mountains
Notes:
Moose typically don't eat conifers but this cow is eating the bark and needles of the pine trees. She traveled around the neighborhood eating the pines and any other tree. Very tough time for moose.
