Field Notes

Description:

Delicate looking. From far it appeared black but on screen I think it may be a dark shade of violet. The abdomen has thin circles of cream. Wing is transparent with one brown mark.

Habitat:

On Yam-like plants on the edge of a waterbody currently covered totally with water hyacinths. Urban, residential area. The damselfly did not like the camera and finally disappeared into the undergrowth I could not venture into before I could take more shots.

Notes:

The second shot is the cropped version.
Maybe Onychargia atrocyana
Black Marsh Dart
