Field Notes

Description:

Rubus is a large genus of flowering plants in the rose family, Rosaceae, subfamily Rosoideae. Raspberries, blackberries, and dewberries are common, widely distributed members of the genus. Most of these plants have woody stems with prickles like roses; spines, bristles, and gland-tipped hairs are also common in the genus. The Rubus fruit, sometimes called a bramble fruit, is an aggregate of drupelets.

Oh, forgot that I live in tropic. yes, their mature fruit were black, sweet taste, and some kind of birds, Pycnonotus aurigaster and probably also Pycnonotus goiavier eat the fruits ...
Best known is the Black- or Raspberry of the genus Rubus, Achmmad. Fruit shots will come in late summer - when they're ripe, Ashish...they are growing right in our yard.
I'm not sure that is the same species, but I like to eat it's fruit since I was kid. My friend also eat it too much, so his urine go red. haha ...
Lars.. I like to see flowers and fruits of this lovely plant.
