Description:

Huge all black woolly bear type caterpillar!

Habitat:

Cumberland trail, Ashland City, Tennessee.

You may lend me your flashlight for shooting in the dark ;-)...
Added to NWF for its special adaptation of being able to withstand regular freezing & thawing in certain parts of its range.
Thanks bayucca! I did check it over by flashlight & it appeared all black but I think based on size alone it could be another Hypercompe sp.
Still very dark, maybe to dark to shot? Hypercompe sp.??
