Nice picture but might be bloodroot? Here's a link to bloodroot: http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symbol=SACA13&photoID=saca13_005_ahp.tif Here's a link to mayapple: http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symbol=POPE&photoID=pope_012_avp.jpg I think the mayapple flower dangles from under a big umbrella-shaped leaf rather than the leaf and the flower each coming up from the ground.
