Field Notes
Description:
A solitary mushroom with a purple cap about 60mm wide. The margins were a paler colour but it deepened to an almost black centre. The flesh was white and gills a creamy colour. The stipe had a pink blush.
Habitat:
Damp tall eucalyptus forest
Notes:
This mushroom was spotted on damp ground with decaying leaves and rotting logs. It was badly damaged by insects.
