Description:

Lichen I spotted on the branches of Sambucus nigra at the side of farmland. This species is known to be characteristic for intensively fertilized areas.

Notes:

The water extract of X. parietina has good antiviral activity in vitro, inhibiting the replication of human parainfluenza virus type 2 (source: wikipedia.org)
