The Philippine nightjar (Caprimulgus manillensis) is a species of nightjar in the family Caprimulgidae. It is endemic to the Philippines. Its local names are kandarapa (Tagalog) and tagolilong (Cebuano).
Habitat:
Spotted on a tree between Palma Hall and the burned out College of Arts and Letters of University of the Philippines - Diliman. Previously spotted at the College of Arts and Letters but moved after the building burned.
Notes:
Although nightjars prefer to roost on the ground, this one roosts on a tree. Photos were taken at sunset.
