Hello, sorry for the delayed reply. Katydids do indeed hop but the mission is focusing on the Auchenorrhyncha suborder which consists of Froghoppers/Spittle Bugs, Leafhoppers, Sharpshooters, Planthoppers, Lanternflies, Peanut-head flies, Treehoppers, Piglet Bugs and Cicadas.
Hi Cindy, I dont understand...katydid's are hoppers too, arent they?
Hi Tamir, I've removed this from The Hoppers mission for you as it doesn't fit in per the overview and details :)
Thanks for the ID
http://bugguide.net/node/view/172012 And I've photographed several in my area.
How can you tell?
