Field Notes

Description:

A small mushroom with a cap about 20mm wide. The cap was mostly creamy colour but this deepened to a brownish orange towards a slightly frilly margin. the centre of the cap was a deep orange.
The gills were also a creamy colour - they stopped short of the cap margin. The stipe had no frill. It was pale close to the cap but darkened to an orange colour near the base.

Habitat:

damp eucalyptus forest. Growing in damp leaf litter.

Notes:

Although small, this mushroom stood out because of its almost two-layered cap - an orange base layer with a creamy top layer. The orange margin was almost translucent.
I cannot even begin to ID this lovely mushroom but would really appreciate any assistance with an ID - the Genus will do..thanks
