Description:

Lifting some deadwood bark, this guy fell from the stem on a tinderfungus below - ivory/dark brown colored larva of some crawler - please help me with ID

It's a beetle larva (which can be very difficult to ID). It looks very similar to Tenebrionid larvae though. Take a look at these from Australia. The Tenebrionid Family is very large, and found worldwide, so they are definitely in your area. No idea as to species though. If you rear it out, you can have the adult identified.
