Field Notes

Description:

Tiny, round shell. Half dark brown, half translucent white.

Habitat:

On the wall by the side of a staircase in Bon Farmhouse (Village Kewzing, Sikkim) on the second day we were there. There was no waterbody nearby and I could not see how it could have been "deposited" there (by a bird) ...why would it crawl up a wall...there was no food there. Baffled, I took a few snaps and released it i the garden, under some bushes safe from birds (I hope). The shell did not feel light enough to be empty...the resident was inside.
