Hi! I found the past spotting i.d.'ed as Neoscona Rumpfi. I also found this i.d. (see page 630), which describes the same behavior of a female found inside a rolled up leaf. http://books.google.com/books?id=AugAvBfYTh4C&pg=PA631&lpg=PA631&dq=Araneus+of+Sri+Lanka&source=bl&ots=Xqa_7JBoX1&sig=0DK7_ZZIZDdLIT9qEZIREOoN8oY&hl=en&sa=X&ei=qixUVO2nB87hoASzoYHwAg&ved=0CEEQ6AEwCA#v=onepage&q=Araneus%20of%20Sri%20Lanka&f=false
This looks like an Orb-weaver spider, possibly from the genus Araneus, but I am not familiar with the species of your area.
