Description:

Robberfly on a perch. One moment he's off. The next he's back, and with small take-away dinner.

Habitat:

Coconut palm. There is a small population of robberflies on this tree. Each maintains a territory at the tip of the palm flowers. Dispute over territories is witnessed sometimes.

Lovely silhouettes! but might be a little hard to ID. Family Asilidae is all I can say.
