Field Notes

Description:

Conspicuous jumping spider about 1 cm long. Abdomen red in both sexes, though females have a blach and white design over the red. White crescents at sides of cephalothorax and front of abdomen. Chelicerae metallic green.

Habitat:

Oak/mesquite wooded grassland about 4200'ASL. I found several on prickly pear plants.
