Field Notes

Description:

A small growe of these orchids found in a clearing and growing in shade. I observed over a month, ever since I discovered basal rosettes with spotted leaves. It took a month to come up with these pale-rose inflorescences, of two kind of colouring: one almost uniform pale rose (pics N° 2 and 3), and the other, more dominant one, with an intricate violet pattern. The "lip" is deeply trilobed, which helps to distinguish this species from D. maculata.

Habitat:

A clearing in a protected mixed forest, feet of Jura mountain range.
