Field Notes

Description:

A female web spider that I found inside it's web.
This species are common inside dark caves of Sabah.
So far there are no P. borneo recorded from caves and Sabah.
The first picture shows the underneath of the spider's body.
They are mostly light grayish brown in color, legs are striped black, black pattern marks on top of body, orange palps and orange underside abdomen.
12 mm - body length.
It's web is mashed and tangled.

Habitat:

Under large rocks of Madai Caves, Kunak, Sabah.

Notes:

>>>Map accuracy : 2km diameter. These species seem to thrive in this cave where there is an abundance of cave fauna, for example - cockroaches and centipedes.
My first discovery of them was 3 months ago in this same cave.
I believe this is a Psechrus borneo.
