Field Notes

Description:

Brown coloured mushroom about 50mm wide with irregular, frilly margins. The Cap looked fleshy, was flat with a depressed centre and dark brown markings radiating towards the margin. Gills were a pale brown, not crowded and appeared slightly decurrent. The stipe was also a pale brown, short.
There was a smaller mushroom growing close to it.

Habitat:

damp eucalyptus forest. These mushrooms were growing on a moss covered log.

Notes:

A very attractive mushroom. I wonder if anyone can assist with an ID...
