Field Notes

Description:

Clump of tiny oval eggs on stiff hair-like bristles attached at equal intervals from each other, to a leaf of a Callistemon ( bottle brush) bush. Individual eggs would be less than 1mm. The stalk plus egg would be about 10mm long

Habitat:

garden - Callistemon bush

Notes:

Lacewings are a natural pest control so, it's good to have these in your garden..
They obviously tend to have a go at each other as well - one larva can eat the other once they hatch hence the eggs are attached to stalks to prevent this for happening !!
