Description:

Attached to concrete light pole. I assume there is something undergoing metamorphosis inside. Any clues?

Thank you both. I'm leaning towards a species of bagworm moth, related to the case moths but they build more durable structures. I think caddisflies are maybe only found in water.
its a type of insect called a caddisfly. somewhat related to butterflies, theres a little white grub inside there. it spins a case of debris for protection. if you want to know more, search Trichoptera
