Description:

This bee landed in front of me and was missing its entire abdomen! It walked down the trail and started flying after I got these two shots. I suspect a nearby bird bit it in half. The thorax, head, legs and wings are all in tact.

Habitat:

On trail in chaparral at Lake Hodges
