wonderful series, of a sight very few people ever get to witness, a fox sleeping in a tree. Way to go Jason.

Lovely series Jason! I was privileged to get to watch a gray vixen & her 3 kits all through the summer last year as they visited our yard on a daily basis. Such beautiful creatures!

the british introduced the red fox to north america because the native gray fox kept climbing trees during the traditional fox hunts.

I never expected to see a fox in a tree either. Great spotting!

I'm not sure if foxes in trees are common or not. But this is the second time we've seen one in a tree recently. We had a lot of rain in the past few days so maybe that has something to do with it. BRIT is in a mix of open and forested areas (next to the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens) so maybe trees are the best refuge during the day when people are walking around.

Amazing. I have never heard of a fox in a tree before. Would the drought drive it to do that?

It's a bit hard to see but this fox has been sleeping in this tree for most of the day. I'll upload some better pictures that a co-worker took with a better camera and zoom lens.
