Field Notes

Description:

The badger is a short-legged, long yellowish-grey hair animal. Its head is marked by black and white stripes.

Habitat:

The American Badger inhabits the open grasslands and pastures of the Prairies.

Notes:

We encountered this badger when leaving the Grassland National Park, SK. We were not expecting more true wildlife and were truly surprised to watch dirt being shoveled out of a hole on the side of the road. We stopped then to see that typical black and white face emerged from the hole.
