Field Notes

Description:

Small green & brown frog with prominent eye ridge. Resident of our High School Courtyard Garden pond.

Habitat:

Woodlands, grassy marshes, and vernal pools through New England. Migrate to vernal pools for breeding in spring.

Notes:

This frog is 4th generation from tadpoles released into the school pond 4 years ago. The unusually warm weather this year caused movement and breeding to happen about 3 wks earlier than usual this year.
