Field Notes

Description:

What could have done this to E.microcarpa ?. A large part of the tree had suffered these jagged cuts like with 'pinking shears'. Each cut seemed to start at the tip of the leaf and progress towards the leaf stem next to the main vein.

Notes:

No crocodiles were seen in the area.

Good trail to follow martin. I searched all over the tree for this culprit. Some kind of sawfly sounds reasonable. I'll let you know how the search goes.
Argybee - this link may be off the mark. If it doesn't help, at least its interesting http://www.flickr.com/photos/51708886@N03/6154658737/in/photostream/
