Description:

Naturalized in Virginia, this water turtle that can be found in many areas of fresh water in this region. This one was helped across the road by me after I assessed for possible injuries (fortunately none seen).

Habitat:

Roadside with nearby temperate woodland and water. Semi-suburban.
