Field Notes

Description:

Spider wrapping up a bee for lunch.

Notes:

I believe this might be a common house spider, but I am not a spider person, so I was hoping someone could tell me about it. I know that her extremely long legs were instrumental in wrapping up this bee while avoiding the sting very gracefully. I captured the majority of the battle on video. Fascinating to watch.

Thank you very much for the help, I am struggling still to find the "add a video".
Great video! Thank you for sharing. FYI, if you edit your spotting, you can paste the link (has to be the long version for YouTube) in the "Add a video" box under missions. This will allow people to watch the video while still on your spotting page.

It's difficult to say for sure with this one shot but the markings and shape are consistent with the Common House Spider. You can upload the video then paste the link on this spotting!
