Field Notes

Description:

Purple flowers look like light grapes in early spring. The vine is strong enough to strangle an oak tree bot sometimes people plant and prune the plant to look like a bush. If let go it will climb into the canopy and compete with ivy and kudzu and eventually kill by strangulation the pines or oaks. Smell and looks make it attractive in some landscapes.
