Good call on the ID. I really looked this one over and the yellow neck spots threw me. I guess deep down I really wanted it to be a bog turtle. :-) Now that I look with fresh eyes, I can see that the yellow on the neck and cheek are not connected. Thanks for correcting this one.
@Goody This is not a Bog Turtle, it is an Eastern Painted Turtle. Like Bog Turtles, Painted Turtles have yellow markings on their neck. However you can tell this turtle is a painted by the faint stripe down the center of the carapace, red markings on the very edge of the carapace and faint yellow stripes down the fore legs. They are kinda hard to see but they are there.
