Hi Donna! What a beautiful moth you have here. This is Dargida procincta, the Olive Green Cutworm, also known as the Girdler Moth. Though highly reminiscent of the Spodoptera and Feltia genera, this is a unique moth restricted to the West Coast. Here are some notes about the lifespan of the moth: http://facweb.furman.edu/~snyderjohn/tatum/469-471.htm http://mint.ippc.orst.edu/olivecutid.htm Some other confirmation photos: http://www.cbif.gc.ca/spp_pages/noctuoidea/jpgs/image_e.php?image%5B%5D=110428.jpg%2CDargida+procinctus
