Description:

Red and orange cup-like fungus growing on forest floor in early Spring.

Habitat:

Deciduous forest floor in flood plain. Fungi growing on fallen wood near stream

Notes:

Cups hold water. Speaking to local experts, Sarcoscypha austriaca, is the Scarlet Cup in our area, not Sarcoscypha dudleyi.
