Description:

Overlooking the "amphitheater" at Cedar Breaks National Monument. This tree has been alive for hundreds of years. It may look dead, but it still thrives. Just one needle of the bristlecone pine can survive for 40 years.

Habitat:

High elevation (10,000 ft. or so) desert climate in southwestern Utah
