Field Notes

Notes:

One for the NWF Mission - this insect's Innovative Defenses include excellent camouflage. This 1cm insect was on the bark of a gum tree in my yard, and I never would have seen it if the sun wasn't shining on its antennae. The first shot has been brightened so you can see more detail, but shots 2-4 have not been altered.

Any insect experts out there want to take a look at these links and let me know if I'm on the right track with the ID? http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_stinkbugs/ZebraShieldBugs.htm http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_stinkbugs/Alcaeus.htm
Thanks Sachin, I have joined the mission and added this photo to it. Now I just have to figure out what kind of insect it is! ; )
ShannaB this one is also appropriate for mission Mimetic Animals of the World
