Description:

Resembling a cattail, this sedge is narrow with long, green, smooth leaves and narrow red-brown flower spikes.

Habitat:

Riparian area of Oak forest. "It is native to the southwestern United States and far northern Mexico, where it grows in wet places, sometimes on serpentine soils." - Wikipedia
