Field Notes

Description:

Cute and cuddly. They are only active for two to four hours of the day.

Habitat:

This Koala was seen dozing in one of the 12 different types of Eucalypt that it relies on for food.

Notes:

Since the removal of quite a few Eucalypt trees in the area, I have not seen another Koala. I have however heard a male making alot of noise at night.

Yep, I saw this beautiful creature in our street. I often wonder if it is the mad male I sometimes hear at night making his very loud scary calls? I rejoice on the nights that I hear that deep rolling gutteral sound that they make. Makes me feel a little bit better about all the Eucalypts that have been lost in the past year. Just hoping the Koala corridor they have built will be enough to sustain the local population?
You saw this in the wild?? Nice one!!!
