Field Notes

Description:

Slightly larger than a House Fly. Dark thorax with a metallic green abdomen. Yellowish coloration at the base of the wings. Somewhat hairy. Sorry about the quality of the images. I only had my cell phone with me and the camera didn't focus properly on this pretty fly.

Habitat:

Suburban area. Resting on a car.
