Oh, sorry for this misunderstanding! I literally took this as a Mosquito Eater, not the fly but an actual mosquito eater. Sorry for the misinformation. LivianEscudero is most certainly correct!
This is a Crane Fly (and yes one of the local common names is "Mosquito Eater") But this adult flies feed on nectar and are harmless to you and to mosquitoes.
No, this is not a mosquito eater. Most likely a male mosquito. Do not worry, they do not suck blood. They are in the family Culicidae.
