Description:

Small to medium-sized ornamental tree
often maturing at 15' tall by 15' wide, but can become twice as large under optimum conditions. Heart-shaped leaves occur on the new growth, while floral buds occur primarily on second-year wood, opening to lavendar-pink blossoms in early Spring before the foliage.

Habitat:

Zones 4 to 9
Native to the Eastern and Midwestern United States
