Description:

Photo take at my backyard found this orange butterfly hanging around the flowers of a spinach tree plant. Its wingspan ranges from 8cm to 9 cm, and it is colored orange (brighter in male specimens) with black markings.

Habitat:

Subtropical hammock openings and edges, and nearby fields. Resident in Brazil north through Central America, Mexico, West Indies, peninsular Florida, and South Texas
